Buyer Beware

Dated language and list. And a direct translation of the French word list. The sources for the French list are from the 1920-'30s. They gave it a Venice cover photo on a translated list.
Barely usable for this reason.
If you speak the language you can pick out the words that are no longer used. But you can't trust what you see as still being in the correct order of frequency for today's Italy.
If you don't speak italian, do not buy this.
Good thing? The index. This can be useful since other on lists I have, it is harder to pinpoint a particular word.
They give you the whole present tense conjugation of every verb, even though only one voice of the verb/ or even just its past participle may have the correct frequency. Sometimes the other voices are uncommon.

An very nearly Excellent Resource

I highly recommend this if you are serious about learning the language -- or one of the other languages in the series.
[Based on the Spanish and Arabic versions]
The series is expensive since it must be ordered-shipped from Europe. -MINUS ONE STAR
Caveat: The Arabic version uses not only transliteration but one of the WORST transliteration schemes ever devised (e.g., treating d-D, h-H, t-T, ain-hemza, th-TH, s-S as one letter each). (I took of an additional star on the Arabic review).
BUT, I typed them into the free Pauker flashcards (SourceForge.Net) and then learn(ed) the most common 2000 words in the language -- along with my OTHER studies in the language this really speeds up comprehension.
